The 30 Day Self Improvement Challenge
Ready for a change? Tired of feeling stuck in life?
I certainly am. To be honest, lately, I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing with my life. Sometimes, I feel so lost with where God wants me and I can get really in my head about it. And when I get anxious and stressed, it’s hard to prioritize my goals, relationships, and faith.
Maybe you’ve been feeling lost, too. Or maybe you just want to do something for yourself for once.
That’s why I created the 30 day self improvement challenge that is meant to change your life for the better. Whether that’d be mental, physical, or spiritual, this challenge is ultimately here to help you.
How does the 30 day challenge work?
So unlike other 30 day challenges where you do a different daily challenge activity until day 30, this one is different. It’s basically committing to 7 rules for the next 30 days.
Here are the 7 rules:
- Wake up before 8am.
- Create a morning routine.
- Eat clean.
- Exercise for about 1 hour.Â
- Read 10 pages of any book.
- Choose 1 skill for the entirety of the challenge. Work on it for 45 minutes.
- Journal/track your progress.Â
I’ll give a more detailed description for each rule, so keep on reading!
Why should you try the 30 day challenge?
Obviously, I can’t force you to try this challenge, but hopefully I can convince that it’s worth giving it a try.
The purpose of this 30 day self-improvement challenge is to bring positive change in one’s mind, body, and soul.
She Be Thriving
I strongly believe that nurturing your mind, body, and soul is the best way to care of yourself and love yourself in the process.
It’s not just about dreaming about where you want to be and planning on how to get there. It’s about doing it.
What can you expect from this challenge?
Imagine getting up in the morning, feeling refreshed and starting your day on the right foot. You put on your workout clothes without having to think about it because exercise has been engrained into your daily routine. Imagine being one step closer to who you want to be in just one month.
Imagine the possibilities! This challenge is meant to turn your imagination into reality.
I’m going to be doing this challenge with you, too.
- This self-improvement challenge is 30 days.
- It will go from March 1 – March 30, 2022.

Here are the details about the challenge
Let’s jump right into what you can expect from each rule:
1. Wake up before 8AM.
If you can win the morning, you can win the day. Make it another challenge to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep the night before. A healthy sleeping schedule will maximize your productivity and improve your mental health.

2. Create a morning routine.
A good morning routine will set you up for the rest of day. You’ll be more focused to work on your goals, be more present, and also improve your mood.
If you’re struggling to create a morning routine, the best way to start is by choosing a small action step such as making your bed, drinking lemon water, or writing 3 things you’re grateful for.
I highly recommend giving this super helpful post a read that teaches how to create the ideal morning routine that works for you.

3. Eat clean (not a diet)
I really don’t like the word ‘diet,’ but in this case, the goal is to have a balanced diet. I also don’t believe in restricting what you eat (unless for health reasons).
This rule means to have a balanced diet (80/20 rule). So it’s not about cutting out a certain food group, but rather limiting your consumption on alcohol and sugar. Make sure you’re getting in your protein, fats, and veggies to nourish your body.
I have a huge sweet tooth, so this will definitely be tough for me (lol). But we’re in this together, right?
4. Exercise for about 1 hour.
Exercise has many cognitive and physical benefits!
Choose a workout routine that works for you and you can stick to for the whole challenge.
Make sure to have at least 1 active rest day in the week. An active rest day could look like taking an easy walk, biking for fun, stretching, etc.

5. Read 10 pages of any book.
This better not be a school textbook (haha). Choose a fun book to read or any book that you’ve been wanting to read.
Set aside time in your day to read 10 pages. I might do this in the middle day or before heading to bed.
This one is going to be a challenge for me, since I’ve tried making reading a habit. Unfortunately, it’s never really stuck with me. So we shall see how this goes!

6. Choose 1 skill for the entirety of the challenge.
Work on this skill for at least 45 minutes for the next 30 days.
Ask yourself, What have I been wanting to learn or try, but was too afraid to start?
Growth never happens inside of your comfort zone. And I’m with you in this!
I’ll be documenting my journey with you. The skill I want to try is dancing.
I’m quietly laughing at myself as I type because this girl right here was not gifted with the moves (haha). But when nobody’s watching, I love moving my body to a catchy tune or upbeat song.
My goal is to learn maybe 1 or 2 (probably just one lol) dance choreographies for 30 days and compare how I did from day 1 to day 30.
I’d love to know what skill you want to work on. Comment down below!
7. Journal/track your progress.
It doesn’t have to be a long journal entry or anything super fancy. You could even type down your thoughts on a Google doc or make a video diary. Or create a Tiktok or Instagram reel to share your journey!
Do what works for you. The goal of tracking your progress is to record your experiences so you know how you’re progressing in the challenge.
