I've heard of the 3-month breakup rule, but honestly, healing after a breakup looks different for everyone. Basically the 3-month rule is that you should take time to focus on yourself and reflect on what you've learned in your past relationship for 90 days before getting back into the dating scene. It might also force you to cope in healthier ways instead of rebounding, which is a very common way to cope (speaking from personal experience, lol).

I can't give you a definite answer, butttt based on a research study, it showed that it takes an average of 11 weeks for people to recover from a breakup. But again, this is just a rough estimate. I just want to point out that even if it takes you longer than your friends or other people to recover from a breakup, THAT IS OKAY. Everyone's healing journey is different.

What should you do if you have no friends to lean on after a breakup?

Okay, this is a tough one. But what has helped me was being in environments where there were people, so in an interesting way, I felt less alone. I would go to coffee shops a lot like Starbucks (lol), the gym, the library, and on a lot of solo hikes. Being at home just made me feel worse and more lonely, so I forced myself to be in a public environment, which helped me a lot, even though I wasn't talking to anyone. Oh, and my therapist was and still is a huge support system for me! So if you don't have any friends to lean on, you could definitely try these options!
